A young Israeli-Japanese-based trio,
colliding the worlds of catchy Pop-like melodies, with adventurous Jazz-driven improvisation, groove exploration inspired by Africa and Funk, and unique rhythms from the worlds of Rock and Prog. Plus, they wear overalls for some reason.

About Us

Kai, Eli, and Noam met during their time studying at the Rimon Jazz Institute. Forming in the midst of COVID-19, they released their first single, “Downgraded (feat. Itai Portugaly)”, in February of 2021, which was recorded between lockdowns. Shortly after, the band released an arrangement of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” from that same session.

As soon as the pandemic allowed, KENS started to perform all around Israel, growing a devoted fan base and establishing themself in the local scene for their unique cross of cultures and genres, their strong trio chemistry, and their attention to visual aesthetics.

In August 2022 KENS independently released their debut album “Contact 123”, Which got into several leading Spotify playlists, attracting articles from Japan, France, and Brazil. The album featured, among others - Sefi Zisling (on the track “Never Have I Ever”), Yonatan Voltzok (“The Visitor”), Itai Portugaly (“downgraded”), a vocal section (“Almost Transparent Blue”), and a horn section (“The Visitor”).
The album was mixed by Nomok, mastered by Ben Bernfeld, and featured original artwork from Gabriel Yawitz.

10 days later, a sold-out album launch show was held in The Zone Club, and featured many personals from the album, as well as special guests. The show was performed in a 360° format and was recorded and filmed. An official video from the show was released - an arrangement of the song “Day Tripper”.

In February 2023, They recorded their second, upcoming album, in the Yellow Submarine studios, featuring a string section from the Israeli Philharmonic, a horn section, a vocal section, Ronen Shmueli, Stav Achai, and Gadi Stern (Shalosh) as a special guest.

A headstart project was launched to support the album, including rewards such as early access to the album, merch, personal lessons or recordings, as well as contributions from Or Paz (Sugar Zaza), Yogev Gabay, Guy Bernfeld, Sefi Zisling and Guy Schwebel.
